Yehia El Husseiny is a Corporate Governance Officer for the Middle East and North Africa markets for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) World Bank Group.
Yehia has 19 years of vast experience in Education and Training. Yehia is leading IFC Corporate Governance advisory projects and training activities in MENA to improve firm performance and enhance access to finance by promoting better corporate governance practices among listed companies, financial institutions, family businesses, and SMEs.
Yehia is advising private and public sector clients and is working closely with regulators, intermediaries, and companies to enhance their understanding of the business case for corporate governance; dealing with investors to enable them to improve the corporate governance practices of their investee companies; advising regulators to develop an effective corporate governance framework; building/supporting intermediaries, such as institutes of directors, training institutes and local consultancies, to provide training and advise their clients on corporate governance; and helping the financial media to accurately cover corporate governance issues.
Yehia has contributed substantially to the creation and business/financial sustainability of more than eight local corporate governance training and service providers in MENA. As a direct result, these institutes are reaching out to many directors in the region thereby creating high impact. Yehia has presented at various seminars, conferences, and workshops across the region aimed at raising the awareness of Corporate Governance for companies, banks, investors, and journalists.
Yehia is pursuing his PhD degree from Georgia University, holds a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with grade distinction from Netherlands Maastricht School of Management (MSM), and a BA Business Administration from Cairo University. Yehia is a Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), has a Cambridge Int’l Diploma for Teachers and Trainers (CIDTT) in addition to numerous certifications from various recognized and accredited international organizations in the areas of corporate governance, risk and internal controls, training, education, and management information systems.
